Bridges: A History of the World’s Most Spectacular Spans

A great coffee table book is always a perfect addition to any home, and this beautiful book covering the world’s most spectacular bridges is exactly that! With a mix of classic, iconic bridges as well as newer modern marvels, this is an eye-catching book that would interest anyone, but especially those who appreciate architecture. Engineers, architects, and even historians, in particular, would love to explore this book, though the stunning images make it a wonderful book for just about anyone.

Specs: This book was initially published 25 years ago but has been completely updated to add new bridges and new stunning images. This is a hardcover book that is 176 pages and features stunning photographs of the world’s most iconic bridges, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, and the Gateshead Millenium Bridge.

Why it’s a great gift: Hardcover coffee table books always make for a great gift, especially as a housewarming present. These are books you might not purchase on your own, but would welcome them to add to your collection and to display in your home. It is especially a great gift for anyone who either works constructing bridges or other similar architecture.

What we like: We like how beautiful all of these images are and how complete of a collection this is. You can learn about and view bridges from all over the world! This is a book that is equal parts beautiful and educational that we really appreciate and think would appeal to anyone.

What we don’t like: This book is actually “sideways” which may catch some people off guard. While this makes more sense in order to better capture the images fully, it can be a little strange to have to tilt the book and hold it to the side in order to flip through the pages.
