Modern Art Desserts: Recipes for Cakes, Cookies, Confections, and Frozen Treats

Have you ever looked at a piece of artwork and thought “hmmm, that looks good enough to eat”. No? Neither have we; but the author of this wonderful and creative book certainly has and now she wants to share her love of art and cake with her readers.

“Modern Art Desserts: Recipes for Cakes, Cookies, Confections and Frozen Treats” by Caitlin Freeman is a book of modern works of art and the author’s attempt to transfer them into her chosen medium. And she succeeds. She takes hints and cues from some of the great modern artists of our time such as Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, Cindy Sherman and Henri Matisse to name but a few. Using inspiration from these artists’ great works she provides the recipes for twenty seven fabulous desserts which somehow keeps the charm and sophistication of the original piece of artwork.
