Fangirl – 2014 by Rainbow Rowell

After they go to college, her twin sister Wren has told her that she does not want to be roommates. This leaves Cath all alone in a strange place. Her new roommate is strange, and her writing professor seems to think that fan fiction will end the world as we know it. There is a handsome classmate that seems to only want to talk about words as well. The main worry she has is for her father, who has never be alone since her mother left them.

Cath has her doubts. She wonders if she can really survive through college and if it is really right for her. She misses the hand holding that her sister does, guiding her whenever she was lost. Can she really start to live her own life without the guidance of her sister beside her? Is she ready to start writing her own stories, and possibly open her heart to a special someone? Or will she continue to live in someone else’s fictional world?
